Suspension of road construction work protested

ISLAMABAD: Suspension of construction work on road from Chistia Abad to Bhata Chowk in sector I-14 has triggered embarrassment among the residents of the area.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has got suspended the construction work shelving the road project. The road intervening between Chistai Abad to Bhat Chowk links Peshawar road, Chakra to Dhok Gujjra. This road is existing since the British era.

When Cantonment Board Rawalpindi undertook the construction work of road with the funds provided by Punjab government , it was decided that road would be built from Dhok Gujra to Misrial road and Bhatta chowk. But road was constructed from Chistia Abad to Radio Pakistan. The remaining part of the road is in dilapidated condition. This road serves as link road in respect of NA-48, 52 and 54.

The residents have demanded of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to take personal interest into the matter and, help remove the hindrances being caused by CDA in the construction of road.
