Terror bid foiled in Islamabad: police hold four TTP terrorists, seize 130 kg explosive

Islamabad: Hours after deadly attack in garrison city of Rawalpindi, police on Monday arrested four suspected Taliban terrorists from suburb area of federal capital and recovered huge quantity of explosives from their possession.

According to officials, police on tip off made raid on a house located at Tarnol, suburb area of Islamabad, seized over 130 kilogram explosive material to be used in terror activities.

Police also arrested four suspected terrorists from the same house, arrested suspects belong to banned terror outfit TTP, officials said.

The terrorists were shifted to undisclosed location for investigations while their identifications were also kept secret.

Hours before, as many as 13 people including five army men were killed in a suicide attack near the GHQ in Rawalpindi earlier Monday morning. The attack came a day after car bomb blast in Bannu in which left over 20 soldiers’ dead.

Security was tightened in the capital city of Islamabad as well as in other major cities of the country after Rawalpindi attack.
