Terrorist attacks intolerable: COAS

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif emphasized that terrorist attacks will not be tolerated and will be responded effectively. However, he reiterated full support to the government led ongoing peace process. According to ISPR, he expressed these views during his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar on Saturday.

The COAS laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered ‘Fateha’ on his arrival and paid tribute to martyrs who sacrificed their lives for defence of motherland. Later, General Raheel Sharif was briefed in detail about various operational, training and administrative matters of Corps Headquarters.

Sharif appreciated the resolve displayed by the officers and men during fight against terrorism and bringing stability to the militancy hit areas.

Army chief instructed all concerned authorities to ensure quality and timely completion of projects being underway in insurgency-hit areas.

On his arrival at Peshawar, COAS was received by Corps Commander Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani.
