Terrorists’ efforts against polio drive strengthen govt’s resolve: Sharjeel

KARACHI: Sindh provincial minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that efforts of miscreants to stem out ongoing anti-polio drive will only strengthen the resolve of government to further speed it up.

While announcing continuity of anti-polio campaign through officials of LB institutions, Memon said that directives have been issued to Secretary Local Government and Secretary Health in this regard.

Issuing directives to relevant secretaries on Wednesday, the minister said that anti-polio drive should be launched on war footings at all levels including taluka, council, union councils, district councils and sub-departments of Local government.

The provincial minister also directed secretaries to utilize all-out resources to launch campaign in every nuke and corner of the province.

He reaffirmed provincial government’s resolve that government will not bow before terrorists, adding he labelled terrorists as cowards who were attacking innocents.

Talking about martyrdom of polio workers the day before, Sharjeel Inam Memon said that Chief Minister Sindh immediately noticed and ordered authorities concerned to arrest assailants as soon as possible.

He also appealed the nation to play their role in order to fail conspiracies of terrorists that they hatched to sabotage anti polio drive.
