Trend of enforcing demands through sit-ins is over: Pervaiz Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that trend of enforcing one’s demands through staging sit-ins were long over now as there is democracy in country.

He was talking to journalists who sit-in in favour of their demands here on Tuesday.

The Senator said that strategy would be devised to solve issues being faced by media men as institutions solve problems of people of every walk of life in democracy.

“Culture of Pakistan has been changed now and there is no confrontation in the government, change in proclamation of demands should also be needed now,” Rashid added.

The minister appealed journalists to end sit-in and assured them cooperation of those who were sitting in Parliament.

Pervaiz Rashid said there is no rift between the government and the journalists and the 8th Wage Board was passed without any protest demonstration.

He said democratic institutions have been solving the problems of the people. The Minister said we should be proud for stable democracy and rule of law in the country.

The Minister vowed that problems of the journalists will be solved and all parliamentarians are with journalists’ community.
