Turkish PM visits cultural village at Aitchison College

LAHORE: Turkish Prime Minister‚ Recep Tayyap Erdogan visited cultural village at the Aitchison College here on Monday A contingent of Pakistan Rangers presented on a guard of honour. National anthems of both the countries were played. The Turkish Prime Minister witnessed cultural mela there. He inspected different cultural stalls set up to project the cultural of the four provinces as well as Gilgit-Baltistan. Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz were also present on the occasion.

The Turkish Prime Minister who is on two day visit Pakistan will hold talks with President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to strengthen bilateral relations. He will also attend Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum 2013 in Lahore.

Pakistan and Turkey are likely to sign a number of agreements including coal power projects‚ construction of dams and energy during the visit of Recep Tayyab Erdogan. Turkish Prime is leading a delegation of ministers‚ businessmen and entrepreneurs to explore the investment avenues in diverse fields in Pakistan.

Earlier on his arrival in Lahore‚ the Turkish Prime Minister was warmly received by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif‚ Speaker Punjab Assembly and provincial ministers at Allama Iqbal International Airport. A twenty-one gun salute was also presented to the distinguished guest.
