UN assures for interference if any unconstitutional step is taken against Musharraf: Christopher

ISLAMABAD: Christopher, counsel for Pervez Musharraf abroad had claimed that UN had held out assurance for its interference if any unconstitutional step was taken against former president.

Christopher said this to Ibrahim Satti, counsel for Pervez Musharraf during his meeting with the latter in London.

Party sources said Christopher had told that he had made contacts with different countries including UN and called upon them to keep a watch over the proceedings initiated against Pervez Musharraf under article 6 of the constitution and ensure protection of rights of Pervez Musharraf.

Sources said that Christopher had told that UN authorities had assured him they would keep an eye on the evolving situation and raise the matter with government of Pakistan on any unconstitutional act or violation of his rights.

Sources said it is expected Ibrahim Satti would return to Pakistan today and inform Pervez Musharraf about his meetings in London.
