CHARSADDA: ‘Volunteers Convention’ was held at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex Charsadda under Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in honor of volunteers who rendered services during testing times and served the ailing humanity.
In the convention, Vice President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, President Alkhidmat Foundation Khyber Pakhtunkwa Khalid Waqas, district president Pir Masood Jan, volunteers, office-bearers and people from all circles of life participated. The motif behind holding the convention was to honour the services rendered by the volunteers during aid and rehabilitation work of floods victims.
Addressing on the occasion, Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Mangat said that booming trend of youth towards volunteerism was welcoming and added that services of volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation in flood related activities were unforgettable.
He went on to say that holding such ceremonies was the need of hour for encouraging and guiding the youth in this direction. He further said that more than 35, 000 volunteers were rendering their services alongside the Alkhidmat Foundation whereas their number was multiplying day by day.
On the occasion Khalid Waqas said that the motif behind holding this convention was to gather the youth full of enthusiasm of serving the humanity at a platform and brief them as to how to serve the masses while remaining within their own professions.
On this occasion, more than 800 individuals took oath as volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation pledging they will prefer service of humanity in their lives while standing with the Alkhidmat. Awards were also given away as the convention culminated.
