Peshawar: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz has said that Electronic Voting Machines would make election process transparent and easy, and results would be generated within just fifteen seconds.

Addressing a ceremony at Engineering University Peshawar, Shibli said that government aims to replace man power with technology, which in turn benefits democracy.

The minister said that EVM was established just within ninety days and it would utilize those 1.8 million votes which get perished during counting process.

Talking about the security features of EVM, Shibli said that it cannot be hacked since it has no connection with either internet or Bluetooth.

He said that opposition should also examine and analyse the EVM.

Talking about his relationship with the university, he said that his connection with Peshawar’s engineering university was a ‘spiritual’ one.
