No space for corrupt officials in the department: DG Excise

Peshawar: Director General Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Mahmood Aslam Wazir has said that there is no space for corrupt officials in the Excise Department.

He made it clear that there is zero tolerance for corruption and illegal activities in the department.

The DG immediately suspended Assistant Sub-Inspector Usman Zafar of ETO office Nowshera. Notification regarding suspension has been already issued. It is worth mentioning that the said ASI was charged in FIR by the Chamkani police station of being involved in drug activity. .

Director Narcotics Excise Department Salahuddin has been appointed as Inquiry Officer. It is pertinent to mention here that the action has been taken against the said official on the basis of FIR of Chamkani police.

The Director General has directed to submit the inquiry report within three days. After the completion of the inquiry, strict legal action will be taken against the said official if found guilty.

The DG Excise said that the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has no space for those involved in illegal activities. He furthered that No negligence will be tolerated in this regard nor will anyone be allowed to tarnish the name of the department. The Director General said that strict legal action will be taken against the said official if the allegation is proved in the inquiry.
