LAHORE: Former president Arif Alive has called for constitution of independent commission to probe into May 9 incident besides giving exemplary punishment to the elements found involved therein. Dr Arif Alvi met PTI leaders including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Ejaz Chaudhry in Anti Terrorism Court (ATC ) here Wednesday who are arrested in 9 cases. Talking to arrested PTI leaders Alvi said you all people are standing with party. You people are facing terrorism related cases. You should not worry. People are with us. PTI founder is most popular leader in Pakistan as well as world. Former provincial minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said I have to face cats and lizards in jail. Half day is spent in confronting them and half day in reading books. " Give this message outside the jail that I am very happy in jail. Later talking to media men Arif Alvi said conduct the trial whatever has to be conducted but what decision has been given by people in the election be respected. Our election symbols w as snatched from us and even then people cast their votes in favor of PTI. Pointing to DG ISPR press conference he said mention was made about commission in Tuesday press conference. I agree to it. It has also been said in the Holy Quran that decision be given after hearing both the respondents. I want commission is constituted on May 9 incident. Investigations are conducted and those found involved are punished. The both sides will have to show leniency. Nation is united and respects the army.
