10 percent hike in salary, pension of govt employees proposed in budget

Islamabad: 10 percent hike in salaries and pension of retired government employees is proposed in the budget for fiscal 2025-26, say budget documents.

Granting 30 percent disparity allowance to government employees from grade 1 to 16 is also proposed in the budget.

As per ministry of finance documents petroleum levy is proposed to be increased from Rs 78 per liter to Rs 100 per liter.

According to sources, the minimum wage is also expected to be increased. Government employees may receive a 10% salary hike and a 30% allowance. It is also proposed to merge the ad-hoc relief allowance into the basic salary.

It is proposed to curtail tax in property sector.

According to media reports, proposal has been given to abolish federal excise duty for property and real estate sector besides starting registration of builders and developers.
