Gujranwala: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has warned that the government will bear full responsibility for any escalation in tensions if it hesitates to implement the Rawalpindi Agreement. Speaking at a workers' convention on Friday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the JI is in consultation with traders regarding a potential three-day shutter-down strike. "We may also consider a wheel-jam strike, and discussions with transporters are already underway," he added. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stressed that the government has only 16 days to act on the agreement or face a strong public reaction. He reaffirmed JI's commitment to pressuring the government to lower power tariffs and eliminate unjust taxes on the salaried class, while also calling for the expansion of the tax net to include the feudal elite. Furthermore, he urged a review of agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and condemned the extravagant lifestyles of the ruling class, which he said are sustained by public fund s. The JI Emir said that the party has embarked on a nationwide membership drive with the ambitious target of recruiting five million new members. Once completed, JI plans to form public committees and mobilize the masses to fight for their rights. The movement's priorities will include strengthening democracy, upholding the rule of law, ensuring freedom of speech, and providing universal access to health and education. Hafiz Naeeemur Rehman emphasized the importance of women's rights, youth empowerment, land reforms, and electoral reforms as central to JI's agenda. He also insisted that only governments with legitimate results, specifically through Form 45, should be recognized. He said that the PML-N, PPP, and MQM came to power through fraudulent means of Form 47. Later in the day, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman inaugurated a membership camp in the city and addressed the media. JI Central Punjab Emir Javed Kasuri and JI Gujranwala Emir Mazhar Randhawa were also present at the event.

Gaza: The central leader and Spokesman of Hamas, Dr. Khalid Al-Qadoumi, has said that Syed Ali Shah Geelani was the leader of the youth of Kashmir, who instilled the spirit of freedom in them with his enthusiasm and reasoning. Dr. Khalid Al-Qadoumi said in the statement that the Indian government imposed 11 years of detention on him, during which he could not attend the funerals of his close relatives, but he never turned away from his mission and through his leadership strengthened the freedom movement, even after his death, the Indian government put obstacles in his funeral and burial, but the resonance of his ideology is heard even today. His death received messages of condolence from around the world, including a message from Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who described Geelani as a great leader of the Kashmir Liberation Movement. Syed Ali Geelani's life ended in 2021 but the maturity of his ideology is still alive today and it has been testified by the head of Israeli forces that the ideology cannot be eradicated.
Judicial remand of PTI founder, Bushra Bibi extended in new Toshakhana reference
Rawalpindi: Judge Nasir Javed of Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has extended till September 16 judicial remand of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in new reference of retaining expensive Bvlgari jewelry from Toshakhana. The court has fixed for hearing bail after plea of both accused on September 6. Both of the accused along with their lawyers barrister Suleman Safdar, Intezar Panjotha and Khalid Yousuf appeared in the court. NAB Prosecutor general Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi and Umair Majid were also present on the occasion. The counsels for the accused took the plea the new reference of Toshakhana against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi is like the previous reference. Two references cannot be framed on same charges. NAB Prosecutor took the plea it can be proved only from documents that new reference resembles previous reference or otherwise. Therefore, the court should summon judicial record of old reference of Toshakhana. The court after hearing the stance of respondents rejected the NA B plea of calling judicial record of old reference of Toshakhana. It is alleged in Toshakhana reference that PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had got expensive Bvlgari jewelry from Toshakhana at low price against the rules and later sold them out in market.

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has expressed his willingness to engage in dialogue, stating that discussions will take place only with those who make the decisions. He said that the negotiations of Mahmood Khan Achakzai are going on with the government. During a conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan remarked that May 9 is their "insurance policy." He further claimed that if May 9 is disregarded, the government and its politics will come to an end. He suggested forming a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9. "Whenever the topic of negotiations arises, they start making noise about May 9. We are always ready for talks. We will speak with those who make the decisions," he added. Imran Khan also mentioned that his potential appointment as Chancellor of Oxford University would be a matter of pride for Pakistan. However, he stated that even if he doesn't become Chancellor, it wouldn't be an issue. He highlighted his ac hievements in cricket and philanthropy, noting that he is Pakistan's biggest philanthropist, having established two hospitals and two universities, with a third university currently under construction. Imran Khan also claimed there were two upcoming entries in the Guinness Book of World Records. The first, he claimed, would be for the "U-turn" where the slogan "Respect the Vote" was replaced with "Respect the Boot." Imran Khan, when in power himself was described a "master of U-turn" which he had claimed was a "hallmark of great leadership." He criticised Nawaz Sharif for his previous stance against the military and martial law, pointing out that figures like Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal have also made harsh remarks against the military. He stated that the second Guinness entry would be for Nawaz Sharif, who, despite allegedly aligning with all four umpires, still lost the match. Imran Khan claimed that the opposition was not even allowed to participate in the match. He accused Nawaz Sharif of benefiti ng from 74,000 additional votes and suggested that whenever there are signs of negotiations, the government brings up May 9 as a diversion and demands an apology for it.
