Islamabad: Federal government has proposed 10 to 15 percent increase in salary of government employees in the budget for the financial year 2026-27.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has made consultations on the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. This consultation was made in the meeting held in PM House. This was informal meeting therefore, its coverage was not made.

Consultation was made on budget for new financial year particularly PSDP, Taxes and increase in salaries and taxes.

According to media reports, finance minister gave briefing to PM on important aspects of budget. There is proposal for increasing salary of government employees from 10 percent to 15 percent in proportion to inflation .

The PM directed that working be made on how much relief can be given to government employees in the light of expected resources.

As per sources the PM will decide about enhancement in salaries following consultation with allies.
