MUZAFFARABAD: As many as 13 people were killed and several injured after a jeep plunged into river Neelum in AJK capital Muzaffarabad.The passenger jeep was on its way from Lawat Bala to Muzaffarabad when it fell into River Neelum on Neelum highway.The rescue teams are facing difficulties in rescue work due to rain.The victims include men, women and children.The bodies of 13 persons have been pulled out and rescue process is underway.People were travelling in the jeep beyond its capacity, therefore, more casualties are expected. 3 persons have been injured who have been shifted to hospital.The locals are pulling out the people on self help basis.Incharge SDMA Neelum Muhammad Akhtar Ayoub said police and Rescue teams have been sent to the scene. Pakistan army, police and other rescue teams are participating in the rescue operation.23 persons were on board in the jeep. 7 among them are still missing. 3 tourists are among these missing persons.Khawaja Siddique said 6 bodies have been pulled o ut. 7 injured are under treatment. 7 injured have been rescued. 3 bodies have been dispatched to Multan.
