Bajore: 2 persons including a policeman were killed during firing by miscreants on polio team in the area of Tangi, Tehsil Salarzai of Bajore.

Police said polio team was engaged in administering polio drops to the children in the area of Tangi when some unknown persons opened fire on them leaving one police and one passer by dead.

Operation to search the miscreants is underway.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned terrorist attack on polio team in Bajaur.

In a statement, he expressed deep sorrow over the death of a policeman assigned to protect the polio team and the injury of a civilian in the shooting incident.

The Prime Minister issued instructions for the swift identification of the perpetrators and bringing them to justice.

He said the attack on those providing the vital service of polio eradication to the nation is deeply unfortunate.

He expressed the commitment that the polio campaign will continue until polio is eradicated from the country.
