Islamabad: The authorities have decided to shift all 284 foreign nationals arrested in connection with alleged online fraud and production of obscene content to Adiala Jail, sources said. The notification declaring a plaza in a private housing society as a sub-jail has been withdrawn, sources said.
The visas of the arrested foreign nationals were cancelled a day earlier, while special permits were issued to facilitate their deportation from Pakistan.
According to sources, all 284 foreigners are being shifted to Adiala Jail as part of arrangements for their deportation. The sources said that all 284 foreign nationals are expected to be deported from Pakistan within 15 days.
The foreigners were arrested from a private housing society in Islamabad in connection with alleged online fraud and the production of obscene content. The majority of those arrested are reportedly citizens of Vietnam, Indonesia and China. Sources said most of the foreign nationals had entered Pakistan on tourist or visit visas.
