Rawalpindi: Judicial magistrate Mehwish Ansari has sentenced 5 accused including a doctor and nurse to 29 years imprisonment and fined Rs 12 lac collectively in a case pertaining to illegal kidney transplantation.Taxila police had registered a case under the charges of illegal transplantation of kidneys against Dr Fawad Mumtaz, nurse Sobia, Abu Bakr, Sharif and Hasnain in the month of March last year.After having been found guilty, the court sentenced Dr Fawad Imtiaz to 7 years imprisonment and fined Rs 10 lac under illegal transplantation act and 7 years imprisonment under section 334 .The court sentenced 3 years imprisonment and fined Rs 50000 each to nurse Sobia, Abu Bakr, Sharif and Hasnain.
