Islamabad: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad and different areas of KP on Wednesday.People came out of their homes reciting Kalima Tayyaba.The epicenter of this earthquake was in the Hindukush mountain range in Afghanistan, about 220 kilometers beneath the Earth's surface.According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department's Seismological Centre the tremors were felt in Peshawar, Swabi, Malakand, Batgram, Mardan, Swat, Nowshehra, Landi Kotal, Hungo, Mansehra, Hazara , and Abbottabad.The tremors were felt in Attock, Mohmand, Landi Kotal, Teerah, Shangla, Malakand, Bunir , Khyber, Swat, Dir Lower and Charsada.However no loss to property and life has been reported so far.The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded the quake at 5.3 magnitude while the US Geological Survey reported it at 5.1 magnitude.
