57% businesses in commercial areas of Islamabad satisfied with street lighting, while 39% dissatisfied. Gallup and Gilani Survey

Islamabad: According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, 57% of businesses are satisfied with the street lighting, a considerable proportion (43%) are either dissatisfied or have neutral feelings about the service, pointing to areas that require improvement.

A nationally representative sample of business owners across Islamabad's commercial areas was asked the following question: 'How would you rate the following services in your business area? - Street lighting?' In response, 38% said 'very satisfied,' 19% 'somewhat satisfied,' 4% 'neither satisfied nor dissatisfied,' 17% 'somewhat dissatisfied,' and 22% 'very dissatisfied.'

The findings are indicative of the ongoing efforts to improve capital infrastructure, yet they also highlight the need for greater attention to areas where street lighting may fall short of expectations.

The study in Pakistan was conducted and released by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 432 business owners across

Islamabad's commercial areas, conducted from 22 July 2025 to 14 October 2025. The error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 percent at the 95% confidence level. The methodology used for data collection was telephonic surveys (CATI).
