Lahore: The 8th edition of Pakistan Navy's Maritime Security Workshop concluded today at the Pakistan Navy War College, Lahore, with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani gracing the occasion as Chief Guest.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest emphasized the need to fully exploit Pakistan's blue economy potential and highlighted the strategic importance of oceans in the 21st century. He praised the Pakistan Navy for safeguarding the country's maritime frontiers and raising public awareness about the critical link between maritime security and national development. He also underlined the importance of expanding the shipping and fishing sectors to enhance economic and socio-economic returns.

On arrival, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Commandant Pakistan Navy War College Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmad Azmie provided an overview of the workshop's activities in his welcome address.

The annual Maritime Security Workshop is organized by the Pakistan Navy to foster a better understanding of maritime security and geopolitical dynamics in the Indian Ocean region. Participants included parliamentarians, policymakers, bureaucrats, academics, entrepreneurs, Armed Forces officers, and media representatives.
