Ashgabat: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said a new threat of terrorism is re-emerging from Afghanistan.

International community should press Afghan government to discharge its obligations.

He said this while addressing a forum held to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality in Ashgabat.

He held it is matter of honor for him to be in the magnificent city of Ashgabat. Beauty of white marble and warmth of the Turkmen people are appreciable.

Hospitality of Turkmenistan is unique itself, he held.

Declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust is good omen.

Pakistan assumed responsibilities in the United Nations Security Council. New threat of terrorism is re-surging from Afghanistan. International community should stress on Afghanistan to discharge its obligations.

He underlined peaceful resolution of disputes is basic pillar of Pakistan foreign policy. Millions of Palestinians sighed a sigh of relief as a result of collective efforts for ceasefire in Gaza.

He observed that UNSC Resolution 2788 reaffirmed Pakistan's vision for durable peace. As a member of the Arab-Islamic group, Pakistan has role in peace mission.

Lasting ceasefire and ensuring humanitarian assistance in the Middle East is must.

Shehbaz Sharif underscored durable peace and sustainable development are interconnected.

He said the 2030 Agenda is comprehensive framework for global progress, adding that it is Pakistan priorities to bring women in economic mainstream. Pakistan's clean and green development model is a global example

Highlighting challenges such as climate change and inequality, Shehbaz said that developing nations need fair access to advanced technologies. He appreciated Turkmenistan's leadership in promoting global peace and called for translating dialogue into concrete actions.

He urged world will have to come out of zero sum thinking and pursue joint cooperation. Building bridges that connect not only economies but also human being and ideas are must.
