A polio-free Pakistan is our collective national goal: Principal LGH

Lahore: Ameer-ud-Din Medical College and Lahore General Hospital Principal Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal has said that achieving a polio-free Pakistan is our collective national objective. He emphasized that it is the responsibility of every parent to ensure their children receive the life-saving polio drops. On the occasion of World Polio Day, he urged everyone to pledge that no child will be left without vaccination against polio.Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal stated that polio is a debilitating disease that can cause lifelong paralysis in children, but it can be completely eradicated through consistent vaccination efforts. He added that LGH has been playing an active role in the national polio eradication campaigns, where doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals are taking part in awareness and immunization activities at all levels.Prof. Dr. Afzal appreciated the efforts of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Health Department of Punjab and other relevant organizations for their dedication to eradicating po lio from the country. He expressed hope that through collective commitment and coordinated action, Pakistan will soon join the ranks of polio-free nations.
