Islamabad: Additional Attorney General (AAG) has informed Islamabad High Court (IHC) government has decided to send a delegation to US for release of Aafia Siddiqui.The delegation will comprise former and incumbent parliamentarians , Senators, retired or serving military officers, doctors and Fouzia Siddiqui.AAG informed this to court during hearing of the petition about health of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and bringing her back to Pakistan.Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan of IHC heard the petition filed by Fouzia Siddiqui on Friday.AAG and representative of foreign ministry appeared in the court.Imran Shafiq, counsel for Fouzia Siddiqui and amicus curiae Zainab Janjua also appeared in the court.AAG informed the court government will send delegation to US in November in Aafia Siddiqui case. The delegation will include former and present parliamentarians, retired and serving army officials, doctors and Fouzia Siddiqui.During the hearing of the case, representative of foreign ministry informed the cour t foreign ministry has shared proposal with US for Prisoners Transfer Agreement (PTA)Amicus curiae Zainab Janjua said in the court it is Dr Fouzia's request too and I also think so that medical check of Aafia Siddiqui be got done.The state counsel said Prime Minister (PM) has accorded approval to send delegation to US.Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq inquired what can foreign office do. Till what time reply related to PTA will come.The representative of foreign ministry said may be reply comes soon.Zainab Janjua said it is request from Dr Fouzia Siddiqui and family that doctors be sent from Pakistan for Aafia Siddiqui.The court adjourned the hearing till next week.It is pertinent to mention here prime minister had written a letter to US president in connection with release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and now decision has been taken to send delegation to US after writing the letter.
