Abduction of woman, her daughters case: IHC expresses dissatisfaction over police investigation, orders FIA to form JIT

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while expressing dissatisfaction over police investigation into the matter of kidnapping of woman and girls from Lahore has ordered FIA to form Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

As per written orders of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, woman and her daughters was illegally detained over financial dispute of former PIA CEO Musharraf Rasool with Waqas Ahmad, and Sohail Aleem

The court while expressing dissatisfaction over police investigation made so far in the cases registered against Waqas Ahmad, and Sohail Aleem in Islamabad ordered DG FIA to constitute JIT for investigation.

The IHC directed that the JIT must examine all aspects of the cases and review the role of the investigating officers and police personnel allegedly involved in the abduction and related crimes.

The court ordered DG FIA and secretary interior to appoint officer of the rank equivalent to director crimes.

The court sought reports from the respective officer on all the aspects of the cases.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani instructed federal interior secretary to make the case of abduction of woman and her three minor children a model case.

It was said in the written order a woman and her three minor daughters were abducted from provincial capital Lahore. Neither any information was given to Lahore police nor the matter was reported to them.

The court directed federal interior secretary to issue proper directives to IG Punjab . home secretary Punjab and Punjab government.

The court ordered Punjab government to initiate inquiry on its own. Inquiry be conducted keeping into view CCTV footage of September 17, 2025 wherein woman Sana and her three minor daughters were seen being abducted in Lahore.

IHC sought report till November 20.
