Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked if any one is found involved in supply of narcotics in educational institutions then action will be taken against the principal.

IHC has issued directive to PERA that it should be included in SOP if any complaint comes then action will be taken against the principal and owner of school.

If narcotics reach school , college, universities then administration is responsible. Give report on next hearing.

Expressing reservation over formation of school committee Justice Inam Amin Minhas inquired how is school committee being formed. This is very dangerous job. Performance report of the committee will have to be given. How the monitoring is being done. what is mechanism in educational institutions. Penalty is not solution to problem. Regulator has to see Narcotics smuggling is very dangerous thing. There are several methods of it.

He gave these remarks during hearing of case on the complaint against narcotics in federal educational institutions.

Federal police presented detailed report in respect of 1314 cases registered this year.

DSP legal Sajid Cheema presented the report in the court on behalf of federal police.

DSP legal said federal police has launched campaign " ab nasha nahi". 1314 cases were registered and 1408 accused were arrested this year. 22 cases were registered and 22 drug traffickers were arrested in the surrounding areas of educational institutions.

Counsel for PERA said seminars were held in educational institutions. Committees were constituted.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas inquired from police authorities police is providing what help to schools. Ask from whosoever is caught that he supplies narcotics to which school.

Kashif Malik advocate took the plea cases were registered against school administration when dengue spread in Rawalpindi.

The court directed PERA to include this in SOP if some complaint comes then action will be taken against school principal and owner.

The court adjourned hearing of the case.
