Adil Raja dismisses his lawyer after losing case

Islamabad: Controversial YouTuber Major (retired) Adil Raja has accused his own lawyer Mahtab Anwar Aziz and his law firm Central Chambers Law Solicitors of fraud, incompetence, cheating and unprofessionalism - after suffering major defeats in former ISI commander Brigadier (retired) Rashid Naseer's defamation case at UK Royal Court of Justice. In a public statement, Adil Raja has said that he has lost several thousand Pounds to the former ISI commander Brigadier (retired) Rashid Naseer in his defamation case at UK Royal Court of Justice because of the poor legal advice given by Central Chambers Law Solicitors and Mahtab Anwar Aziz who was attorney for Adil Raja in the case.Adil Raja makes serious allegations of misconduct and fraud against Mahtab Aziz, who calls himself a senior PTI UK leader, and Central Chambers Law Solicitors. He said he will be reporting them to the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA), which checks conduct of lawyers in the UK.Adil Raja says his lawyer has been making applications in the court without his approval and knowledge, which has cost him in his case.He said: 'My legal team initially applied for security of costs being incurred (proof of which were submitted to GoFundMe), but this was rejected because of a reciprocal agreement between Pakistan and the UK.Subsequently, without consulting me, my lawyers requested a three-month stay on the case, citing an investigation by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) against the ISI commander's lawyers. This appeal was also denied, as the judge saw no guarantee of the investigation concluding within three months and noted that Brigadier Naseer could change his lawyers at any time.According to recent case law, the costs of rejected applications fall on the applicant. Consequently, I was ordered to pay £10,000 for the two failed applications.Following my lawyers' advice, I requested to pay in installments, but the judge deemed this premature, suggesting I should have waited for enforcement by the claimant.Although the judge rejected this application, he ordered the additional payment to £3,000 against the claim of around £9,000 by the ISI's Brigadier's lawyers. The judge advised me to negotiate an instalment plan with the opposing solicitors, which I have offered, but no response has been received so far after rejection of an initial offer.'Adil Raja has blamed Mahtab Anwar Aziz and Central Chambers Law Solicitors of giving him poor advice and that's why he has dismissed his lawyer. He said: 'Due to poor legal advice and financial constraints, I now owe a total of £13,000 in costs. As a result, I have dismissed my lawyers and am now representing myself.'Adil Raja said the retired officer's legal team has claimed a cost budget of £289,975.20. He said: 'This is particularly troubling given that I already owe £13,000 due to three rejected applications, a situation entirely caused by my former lawyers' incompetence, for which I intend to report them to the SRA.Adil Raja sacked his lawyer after losing yet another application a t the London High Court in the defamation case brought by Brigadier (retired) Rashid Nasir as the court imposed another fine on him.The UK High court dismissed Adil Farooq Raja's application to pay only £35 to Brigadier (R) Rashid Naseer per month towards the £10000 that the court has ordered Adil Raja to pay to Mr Naseer during the hearing two months ago - which Adil Raja had also lost on all counts. Not only the UK Judge dismissed Adul Raja's meritless application, the judge has also ordered to Adil Raja to pay around £13000.As a result of the poor legal advice, Adil Raja will never be allowed to recover his legal fees from the retired military officer who has so far wo all stages of defamation from Adil Raja. The fugitive Youtuber, accused of anti-Pakistan activities on social media, was represented throughout by Mahtab Anwar Aziz of Central Chambers Law Solicitors. This law firm is owned by Ahmad Jawad, a businessman from Mandi Bahauddin in Gujrat, Chhimmon Village. Evidence shows that Ahmad Jawad, who is also called Ahmad Jawad Gondal, set up the law firm with his Indian business partner Mannu Vaish.Ahmad Jawad Gondal and Mannu Vaish set up Central Chambers Law with around seven years ago under company number 11326453 and registered office address, Central Chambers, Suite 2, The Broadway, London, England, W5 2NR, according to UK Company House evidence.Ahmad Jawad's employee and PTI UK activist, Mahtab Anwar Aziz, is a lawyer now only for Shayan Ali after being sacked by Adil Raja.During Adil Raja case hearing, Mahtab Anwar Aziz revealed to UK court that PTI UK activist Shayan Ali suffers from serious mental health issues and has mental health vulnerabilities.Mahtab told the court in his statement that Shayan, who was expelled last year from his London college over the same issues, was vulnerable and suffering from very serious mental health issues because of a defamation case filed against him by Maryam Aurangzeb, who is now minister in Punjab.Mahtab Aziz on behalf of Shayan Ali and Adil Raja made completely false and ludicrous allegations of terrorism, corruption, murder, kidnappings, torture, rigging, repression and censorship against Pakistani military institutions before the English Court but failed to back up his claims with evidence and the court dismissed all his applications.A spokesman of SRA said: 'Action we can take ranges from a rebuke up to a fine of £25,000. If we think potential misconduct warrants a more severe punishment, we would prosecute at the independent Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, which has unlimited fining powers and can stop a solicitor from working through suspension or striking them off.'
