Rawalpindi: Civil judge Rawalpindi Ahsan Raza has sent PML-N leader and former senator Chaudhry Tanvir Khan to Adiala jail on judicial remand following completion of his two days physical remand.
Chaudhry Tanvir Khan is nominated in murder case of PTI former provincial assembly member Adnan Chaudhry.
The court rejected police plea seeking 7 days physical remand more of Chaudhry Tanvir Khan.
Chaudhry Tanvir was presented in court from Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology through ambulance.
Additional contingent of police was deployed around judicial complex on this occasion.
Malik Wahid Anjum counsel for Chaudhry Tanvir and Shahid Ali Shahzad Bhatti counsel for plaintiff were also present on the occasion.
Tanvir Ashraf investigation officer while requesting the court to grant 7 days more physical remand took the plea the accused was taken to RIC on June 17 for his medical check up under high court order. The accused got admitted in hospital. The court had issued two days physical remand of the accused on June 18 for recovery of mobile phone from him.
As the accused know well the nature of recovery of mobile phone therefore, he is hesitating deliberately in the matter of recovery of mobile phone. While the recovery of mobile is must for investigation in the case, therefore, the accused be handed over to police on further 7 days physical remand .
The counsel for the accused opposed further 7 days physical remand.
However the court while rejecting plea for further 7 days physical remand ordered to send the accused to jail on judicial remand.
The court directed the accused be presented in the court again on July 4.
