Muzaffarabad: AJK Election Commission (EC) has announced to hold election of legislative assembly in three phases. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said election will be held in Mir pur division on July 27, and polling in Muzaffarabad and in constituencies of Jammun Kashmir refugees will take place on August 2.

CEC further said election in Poonch division will be held on August 10. CEC said the result of the election to be held in phases will be announced in the evening on the same day. The result will be announced on the day of polling. The election will be held on August 2 in 12 constituencies of the refugees settled in Pakistan.

The CEC while rejecting the demand for postponing the general election announced election will be held as per schedule. All the arrangements have been completed and transparent, free and peaceful election will be ensured.

CEC said change in election schedule has been made to make administrative matters and election arrangements more effective besides ensuring transparent, organized and peaceful polling.

He urged political parties, candidates and voters to abide by code of ethics , keep the election campaign peaceful and cooperate with EC to ensure success of democratic process.
