AJK election: 2 presiding officers suspended, arrested on charges of alleged rigging

Kotli: AJK Election Commission (EC) has suspended two presiding officers in the first phase of general election in Azad Kashmir under charges of alleged rigging. The two presiding officers have been arrested as well.According to AJK EC spokesperson the two presiding officers had gone to private residence instead of pooling station. Upon it returning officer took into custody the polling bags immediately. New polling officers were appointed in place of these two suspended polling officers and were sent to polling stations.The spokesperson said proceeding is being initiated against arrested presiding officers under election rules. Negligence or irregularity will not be tolerated in the election. Every possible step is underway for holding transparent and impartial election.It is pertinent to mention here PML-N central leader Rana Sana Ullah demanded for halting election in AJK Constituency LA-10 Kotli and demanded of Prime Minister Azad Kashmir and Chief Election for ordering inquiry.,Rana Sana Ullah h ad said Saqlain and Qaisar Patwari be investigated on the charges of alleged rigging. The election in the constituency be stopped till completion of inquiry.
