Islamabad: Akhtar Hussain member of Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has resigned.

13-member JCP includes 5 judges including Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) , 4 members of parliament, law minister, representative of bar council and woman or non Muslim member nominated by speaker National Assembly.

Akhtar Hussain played his role in different sessions.

Akhtar Hussain advocate sent his resignation to chairman JCP, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi.

According to text of the resignation he said Pakistan Bar Council elected him thrice unanimously. I can not discharge more obligations on the matter of recent appointments in superior judiciary.

I am resigning from the office of member judicial commission. I assure I will continue my struggle for independence of judiciary.
