Lahore: As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza enters its third year, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the Palestinian people and continuing its relief and rehabilitation operations.In a statement issued on Tuesday, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan President Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman highlighted that despite two full years of conflict, the plight of Palestinians remains critical, with millions continuing to endure displacement, severe food insecurity, disease, and shortages of basic life necessities. He stressed that the responsibility of the international community must extend beyond verbal concern, calling for urgent, practical measures to ensure uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance and support long-term rehabilitation.Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman detailed that Alkhidmat has maintained continuous relief operations since the outbreak of the war. Over the past two years, 7,413 tonnes of relief supplies have been dispatched to Gaza through donations f rom the people of Pakistan, alongside aid covering food, clean water, medicines, healthcare, and temporary shelter. Educational and rehabilitation initiatives are also actively underway. He added that the organisation has sponsored more than 2,000 orphaned children, provided educational assistance to 454 Palestinian students, and established a school in Cairo catering to 300 children displaced from Gaza.'The people of Gaza require not just immediate relief, but sustained solidarity and support,' Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman stated, assuring that Alkhidmat will maintain its assistance programmes through the support of Pakistani citizens.The Alkhidmat president expressed gratitude to donors and volunteers while calling on the United Nations and global leaders to take effective measures to protect civilians and secure unhindered access for relief supplies.
