Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi, in collaboration with Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) Gulberg, organized the 'Roadside Forest, Phase 2' as part of its tree plantation campaign. A plantation drive was also conducted at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, where a large number of Alkhidmat volunteers and students participated.

As part of the initiative, saplings were planted along the roadsides and green belts near Lucky One Mall. Opposition Leader in Karachi City Council Saifuddin Advocate and Gulberg Town Chairman Nusratullah Khan planted saplings at the site. Town Municipal Officer Hameer Ahmed, Alkhidmat Senior Manager Asad Qureshi and other officials were also present.

Meanwhile, students of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University, located in Lyari, actively participated in Alkhidmat's tree plantation campaign. Alkhidmat volunteers also distributed saplings among men and women traveling in cars, motorcycles and rickshaws. Saplings were planted on the green belts in the middle of roads and were also watered.

A special prayer was offered for peace, security, development and prosperity in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Saifuddin Advocate said that Alkhidmat's tree plantation campaign has continued to expand and is growing day by day. He said that Pakistan is currently facing major challenges as a result of climate change. 'By planting as many trees as possible, we can protect our country and city from these challenges,' he said.

He added that Alkhidmat is serving people in various fields of life and is also playing an important role in making the environment more beautiful, green and healthy.

Gulberg Town Chairman Nusratullah Khan said that they were pleased to participate in the tree plantation campaign in collaboration with Alkhidmat. He emphasized the need to create greater awareness among the younger generation about the importance of environmental protection so that they can effectively face the challenges of the future.

Students of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University planted saplings at various locations across the university and expressed their resolve to make every possible effort to transform their city into a greener and more environmentally friendly place.
