Lahore: President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, departed for Cairo on Thursday to strengthen and accelerate Alkhidmat's ongoing relief and rehabilitation operations for the people of Gaza.Speaking to the media before his departure, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that comprehensive planning for the rehabilitation of millions of displaced Palestinians was essential in the post-ceasefire phase, and that his visit to Cairo aimed to facilitate this process.During his stay, he is scheduled to hold meetings with the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo, and international partner organizations to discuss current and future relief and rehabilitation initiatives for Gaza.Dr. Hafeezur Rehman shared that Alkhidmat Foundation has so far hosted 361 Palestinian medical and non-medical students in Pakistan, out of whom 49 have completed their education. He added that meetings with Palestinian students and heads of educational institutions are also part of the v isit to explore opportunities for additional academic scholarships and full sponsorships for deserving students.He further informed that preparations are under way to dispatch one month food packages for 6,000 Palestinians as part of the organization's continued humanitarian support.Dr. Hafeezur Rehman reaffirmed Alkhidmat Foundation's commitment to sustain its relief and rehabilitation efforts for Gaza, saying that the organization 'will continue to stand by the people of Palestine at every cost.'
