Karachi: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Alkhidmat Karachi organized a grand Beach Clean Drive at Sea View. Thousands of student volunteers from schools, colleges, and universities associated with Alkhidmat participated in the campaign. The objective of the drive was to raise public awareness about the importance of keeping neighborhoods, cities, and coastal areas clean in order to ensure a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.

Among those present on the occasion were CEO Alkhidmat Karachi, Naveed Ali Baig, Director Volunteer Program Yusuf Mohiuddin, Chief Community Policing Karachi, Murad Soni, Assistant Commissioner Civil Lines Sub-Division, Ahmed Murtaza, Assistant Director Social Welfare District Malir, Noor Muhammad, Assistant Director Social Welfare Department Taluka Saddar, Ishtiaq Hussain, and other dignitaries. Deputy Commissioner District South, Javed Nabi Khoso also visited the drive. Children enrolled in Alkhidmat’s Orphan Care Program and Foodpanda riders also took part in the campaign. During the drive, students from schools, colleges, and universities collected litter from Sea View and gathered it at designated points, from where it was safely disposed of. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to playing an active role in maintaining a clean environment and spreading this message throughout society.

Speaking to the media, CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig said that the purpose of the Beach Clean Drive on World Environment Day was to create awareness among citizens about the importance of keeping beaches and the city clean. He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility. He noted that thousands of volunteers participated in the campaign. ‘This drive is helping raise awareness among Gen Z about their responsibility to keep their surroundings clean, while also conveying to all segments of society that a clean environment is essential for a healthy life,’ he said.

Naveed Ali Baig further stated that the country is facing significant environmental challenges due to climate change. In response, Alkhidmat has launched a tree plantation campaign aimed at making the city greener and more environmentally sustainable. Large-scale plantation activities are being carried out as part of this initiative. He stressed that maintaining a clean environment is not only the responsibility of the government but of society as a whole. Citizens should take ownership of their surroundings and help remove litter and waste wherever they see it. He also urged visitors to the beach to keep the coastline clean and avoid littering. Naveed Ali Baig added that through its various programs, Alkhidmat is not only helping develop the skills and capabilities of the younger generation but is also working to empower them and encourage responsible citizenship.
