Ambreen Khan Proposes Revolutionary Steps to Revive Pakistan’s Housing Sector

Peshawar: Ambreen Khan, the founder of Mardan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has emphasized the pivotal role of the housing and construction sector in strengthening Pakistan’s economy. She urged the government to reduce the withholding tax to 1%, exempt first property purchases from taxation, and eliminate the “deemed income” concept to unlock $100 billion in potential investments.

She further highlighted that the housing sector directly connects to 72 industries, providing immense employment opportunities and driving economic growth. Additionally, she proposed launching a 10-year fixed-rate mortgage product and prioritizing construction as a key banking sector category to encourage wider economic development.
