An Air India plane crashes in Ahmed Abad

New delhi: An Air India plane has crashed in Ahmedabad laving 30 persons dead while more casualties are being feared. According to Indian media An Air India plane crashed near airport of Ahmad Abad city of Gujarat. 242 people were on board. Roopani, former chief minister of Gujarat was also on board the plane. Death of 30 people has been confirmed.

The plane was on its way from Ahmad Abad airport to Birmingham. it crashed soon after few minutes of taking off. According to Indian media The 242 people included 217 adults and 11 children were on board. Of them, 169 were Indian nationals, 53 were Britons, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian. Media reports said the plane crashed on populated area. Following the incident of air crash Ahmed airport is not functional. All the flights on airport have been suspended temporarily.
