Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued arrest warrants for the director Adman Emergency Rescue Assistance (ERA) and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for not appearing persistently despite being summoned by the court in a case related to allegations of corruption and irregularities..
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued order on the petition regarding service matters of ERA employees following merging of ERA in NDMA.
The court order said director Admn ERA and NDMA are not appearing in the court despite issuance of summon notice. DIG Police should ensure implementation of arrest warrants or appear in person and inform the court about the reasons.
The court remarked that not appearing in the court is tantamount to not complying with court's orders deliberately.
Court is left with no way except issuing bailable arrest warrants. Court issues bailable arrest warrants of director Admn ERA and NDMA.
It was further said in the order that DIG Police Islamabad should ensure implementation of arrest warrants and in the event of non implementation of arrest warrants DIG police should appear in the court in person and inform the court about reasons. October 28 is fixed for next date of hearing of the case.
