Arts Council Karachi, hosts the launch of Samreen Nadeem Samer’s Poetry Collection ‘Aarzoo Ka Diya’

Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, hosted the launch of poetry collection 'Aarzoo Ka Diya' by poetess Samreen Nadeem Samer at Haseena Moin Hall. The event was presided over by distinguished poet and scholar, Professor Dr. Shadab Ahsani, while the chief guest was Zaib Azkar Hussain. The ceremony featured notable speakers, including Najma Usmani, Dr. Zakia Rani, and Dr. Farah Syed, while Shazia Alam Shazi moderated the event. In his presidential address, Professor Dr. Shadab Ahsani praised Samreen Nadeem as a sensitive poetess who does not rely on the fulfillment of her dreams. He highlighted that her poetry reflects the realities of life, and she excels in writing prose poetry. Chief guest Zaib Azkar Hussain commended Samreen's unique perspective, stating that she perceives life with a sense of freedom, and her verses beautifully capture both joy and sorrow.

Dr. Farah Syed described Samreen's collection as a valuable gift for the new generation, emphasizing that her poetry embodies traditionalism while eloquently expressing the philosophy of life. She noted that poetry is the creation of a sensitive heart, and Samreen is a poetess who spreads happiness through her work. Dr. Zakia Rani remarked that Samreen's poetry evokes the nostalgia of home for those living abroad. She acknowledged the challenges women face in the field of poetry but praised Samreen for articulating the complexities of the world and the heart with finesse. Najma Usmani highlighted Samreen's sincerity and sociable nature, noting that every poet has a unique style. She pointed out that the emotions of women poets living in foreign lands are distinct, and Samreen's poetry reflects a special kind of pain. In her address, Samreen Nadeem shared that poetry has been her passion since childhood and is a legacy she has inherited. She expressed that poetry gives wings to the soul and adds meaning to lif e. She extended her gratitude to Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, for organizing such a magnificent event and appreciated the efforts of President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Muhammad Ahmed Shah in promoting art and culture.
