At least three FC personnel martyred, 17 injured in Hangu terrorist attack

Islamabad: At least three soldiers were martyred and 17 others were injured on Monday after terrorist attacked a Federal Constabulary fort in Torawari area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu. Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations Asad Zubair said that said that the police along with the FC retaliated against the terror attack, forcing the militants to flee.

The police officer further added that the injured personnel shifted to the Doaba Hospital.

After the incident, the police gunned down one of the terrorists' facilitator in an encounter after he opened fire on the security personnel. Also, a police search operation is underway after attack on the FC fort, said the district police officer (DPO).

Meanwhile Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived at the FC Headquarters in Peshawar. The Interior Minister and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended the funeral prayers of FC martyrs Naik Sadiq Hussain, Constable Abdul Ghaffar, and Constable Zewar Khan, who embraced martyrdom in the terrorist attack in Hangu. He paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Mohsin Naqvi, Ali Amin Gandapur, IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Commandant FC Riaz Nazir Gara, and KP Chief Secretary laid floral wreaths on the coffins of the martyrs and offered Fateha. The Interior Minister also met with the families of the martyrs, offered condolences, and expressed heartfelt sympathy. He consoled the bereaved families and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and CM Ali Amin Gandapur also shouldered the coffins of the martyrs.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the sacrifices of the martyred soldiers will not go in vain. 'The families of the martyrs are our own families, and the nation will forever remain indebted to them", he said.

The Interior Minister also visited the Federal Constabulary Hospital to inquire about the health of injured Naib Subedar Kashif. He praised his courage and determination, saying: 'You have set an unforgettable example of bravery and repelled the enemy's attack. The way you fought against Indian-sponsored terrorists is highly commendable. We all stand with you and will always remain by your side.'

IG KP Police Zulfiqar Hameed, FC Commandant Riaz Nazir Gaara, civil administration, and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) for their successful operation against terrorists in Upper Dir. He lauded the professional capabilities of the KP Police and CTD in sending the India-backed terrorists to hell.

Interior Minister said that KP Police and CTD foiled the nefarious designs of terrorists. 'Our brave forces are determined to completely eliminate the terrorists. The nation is proud of its valiant sons,' he added.

The Interior Minister further stated that successful operations against terrorists are clear evidence of the professional skills of our forces. He affirmed that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the forces in the fight against terrorism.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also prayed for the speedy recovery of the police personnel injured in the operation.
