Attaullah Tarar says constitutional amendment under consideration to further strengthen judicial process

Lahore: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that a constitutional amendment is under consideration to further strengthen the judicial process and address any ambiguities.Speaking to the media in Lahore on Tuesday, Attaullah Tarar said transitioning from a constitutional bench to a constitutional court is also part of our consultations.Regarding Article 243, the Information Minister emphasized that Pakistan is facing security challenges but urged that no speculations should be made on the matter.The Information Minister said he appeared before the court in a defamation case filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in July 2017 against the PTI founder. He regretted that the lawyers of the PTI founder have so far sought 120 adjournments in the case.He said the allegations of PTI founder that Shehbaz Sharif had offered him 10 billion rupees, are ridiculous, fabricated and baseless. He said the PTI lawyers have failed to provide any evidence but we have furnished concrete evid ences and facts before the court. He expressed the confidence that justice will be done in the case.The Information Minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif believes in public service and development. He said the allegations were leveled against him to tarnish his reputation.
