Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar Advocate, has expressed the government's commitment to strengthening cybersecurity and ensuring a safer digital environment for citizens.
Speaking at an event on cybersecurity in Islamabad, Attaullah Tarar highlighted the establishment of the country's first Digital Communication Department. He said we have our own fact check at the ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
He said the government has also established National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has implemented various mechanisms.
Acknowledging misinformation as one of the most significant challenges of the modern era, the Information Minister stressed the importance of responsible social media usage. He also underscored the need for increased public awareness and training in order to address these issues effectively.
