Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held a meeting with Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Babar Saleem Swati during which parliamentary affairs, legislation and matters of mutual interest were discussed in detail.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen coordination and parliamentary cooperation between the federal and provincial legislatures. They expressed their resolve to continue joint efforts for strengthening parliamentary institutions and promoting democratic values.
Matters relating to resolving public issues and improving the effective performance of legislative institutions also came under discussion. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasised the importance of greater coordination and exchange of experiences among parliamentary institutions.
He said strong parliamentary institutions were the guarantee of democratic stability. The National Assembly Speaker said mutual consultation and exchange of experiences among all legislative institutions were essential for improving parliamentary performance.
He said Speaker Conferences provided an effective platform for expanding parliamentary cooperation. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also said production orders for opposition members had been issued without discrimination.
The KP Assembly Speaker appreciated the National Assembly Secretariat for providing comprehensive parliamentary cooperation and lauded Sardar Ayaz Sadiq's role in promoting coordination among parliamentary institutions.
