Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said the government is taking concrete measures to promote digital media.

Speaking at the grand launch of the digital platform Mazaj News in Islamabad on Monday, Attaullah Tarar highlighted that digital media played an effective role during Marka-e-Haq.

The Minister stressed that it is essential to respond to the enemy in their own language through digital platforms.

He emphasized that digital media must play its due role in projecting the country's positive image and curbing fake news.

He further underscored the need for a representative association of all digital media platforms to formulate a unified editorial policy, assuring full government support and cooperation in this regard.

Responding to a question, Attaullah Tarar said the Pakistan People's Party is a key ally of the government and expressed the confidence that this partnership and cooperation will continue.

He added that boycotts are the biggest mistake in politics, and consensus and dialogue should always be encouraged to move forward.
