Islamabad: Federal finance secretary has said budget for the new financial year 2025-26 will be announced on June 10.

Budget for new fiscal year will be announced on June 10. However date in connection with meeting of National Economic Council (NEC) can be changed. Date for APCC meeting has not been determined so far, he said this in an informal talks with media men here Thursday.

He said virtual talks between Pakistan and IMF will take place today again. The matter of providing relief to salaried class and industrial sector will come under discussion in the meeting. Both sides will exchange views on budget targets for new financial year and likely steps.

He underlined budget for new financial year is being given final shape in consultation with IMF.

According to media reports government has convened meeting of National Executive Council (NEC) on June 5. Different economic matters will be discussed in the meeting.

Sources said budget will be presented on June 10 and there is no possibility for changing this date.

Sources said decision for Eid holidays will be made following return of Prime Minister from his foreign visit.
