Islamabad: Federal cabinet has accorded approval to 15 percent enhancement in pension of Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) pensioners.

Federal cabinet met under Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif in PM House Islamabad Wednesday.

This will take effect from January 01, 2025.

The institution will meet the increase in pension out of its own sources.

PM directed to establish cabinet committee with reference to institutional reforms in EOBI. In addition to reforms in the institution, this committee will consider the proposals to extend old age benefits to unorganized labor sector including domestic servants, labor attached with agriculture sector and employees of other institutions like this who have been neglected so far.
