Lahore: Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's calling Donald Trump a "messenger of peace" is the height of mental slavery. He said Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) will continue to raise a strong and unwavering voice in support of the people of Gaza.Expressing his views on social media platform X on Thursday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the United States has once again vetoed a ceasefire resolution in Gaza. The U.S. is the main backer of Israel in its genocide of Palestinians and is equally complicit in the massacre of innocent children and women through bombings and starvation, he said. Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif is handing out certificates of peace to Trump, he added.The Jamaat-e-Islami leader questioned, 'What else is slavery and sycophancy if not this?' Hafiz Naeemur Rehman added that the silence of the rulers of the Islamic world over the ongoing Zionist terrorism in Gaza clearly shows they all seek Trump's approval.He lamented that, unfortunately, these rule rs have miserably failed to represent the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah. He reiterated his demand that the government of Pakistan must stop obeying Washington and instead play a leading role in ending the oppression of the Palestinian people and advocating for Gaza.Hafiz Naeemur Rehman reaffirmed that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to raise a strong and unwavering voice in support of the people of Gaza and will keep shaming the rulers for their inaction.
