Rawalpindi: Pakistan on Tuesday conducted successful training launch of surface to surface ballistic missile Shaheen-II. The training launch was aimed at training of troops, validating various technical parameters and performance evaluation of different sub-systems incorporated for improved accuracy and enhanced survivability. According to the statement issued by the ISPR, Tuesday's training launch was witnessed by senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations. Director General Strategic Plans Division appreciated the technical prowess, dedication and commitment of scientists who contributed towards this land mark achievement. The President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Services Chiefs congratulated the scientists and engineers on this achievement.
All drama of arresting Gen (Retd) Faiz being enacted to send me to military court: Imran Khan
Rawalpindi: PTI founder Imran Khan has said all the drama of arresting Gen (Retd) Faiz is being enacted to take him to military court. . "Efforts are underway to make Gen (Retd) Faiz approver against me. They know all other cases against me have been discharged. Therefore, they want to take me to military court, he said this while talking to journalists in Adiala jail Monday. He held they want to get divulge some thing from Gen (Retd) Faiz. They will force Gen (Retd) Faiz to give some statement that May 9 was conspiracy. If Gen (Retd) Faiz issued order of my arrest and stole CCTV footage then arrest him. Whosoever hatches conspiracy he does not demand for judicial commission. Regime change was done against us and I was put into jail. They are saying now Gen (Retd) was mastermind. Faiz got me arrested. They don't feel ashamed that they are saying Gen (Retd) Faiz issued directives to Bushra Bibi. They fear when Qazi Isa will be retired their theft will open. He held Gen (Retd) Bajwa had removed Gen (Retd) Faiz by striking a deal with Nawaz Sharif. When asked by a journalist you have always defended Gen (Retd) Faiz and now when he has been arrested why you fear he will become approver against you, he said I don't worry if he gives any evidence against me . I am saying this to the extent of Gen (Retd) Faiz. He was holding talks with Taliban since 3 years and he should not to be removed. I asked Gen (Retd) Bajwa not to remove him. To a question from a journalist if you go to military court then what about the party. Already differences are running in the party. Imran Khan said whatever they do it makes no difference as our party is growing stronger day by day. Gen (Retd) Bajwa stabbed me in the back.
Court orders to send Imran ,Bushra Bibi in jail on judicial remand in new toshakhana reference
Rawalpindi: Judge Nasir Javed Rana of Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has ordered to send PTI founder and Bushra Bibi to jail on 14 days judicial remand in new reference of receiving invaluable jewelries of Balghari company from Toshakhana. The court has ordered to present both of the accused before it on September 02. Both of the accused were presented in the court Monday on completion of their 11 days physical remand. Barrister Suleman Safdar counsel for the accused and NAB Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi were also present in the court. NAB did not request for further physical remand of the accused persons. Former Chairman PTI and Bushra Bibi filed written reply in the court to NAB questionnaire. Upon it the court sent both the accused to jail on judicial remand besides directing they be presented before it on September 2. It is alleged in new toshakhana reference that PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi received jewelries of Balghari company from toshakhana on low price and th ey sold them in the market. The cost of jewelry set was Rs 7 crore 50 lac. The accused have filed bail petition in this case. It is pertinent to mention here that NA had arrested both the accused on July 13 in Toshakhana reference. Court had approved first 8-day physical remand of the accused on July 14 and directed NAB to conduct investigation in jail.
Court resents over report of jail administration, summons them in person on petition regarding detention of deputy supdt Adiala jail
Rawalpindi: Justice Muhammad Raza Qureshi of Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench while expressing resentment over the report filed by jail authorities in regard to petition filed against the detention of deputy superintendent Adiala jail has directed the jail administration to appear in person. The court has sought affidavit from intelligence bureau and CPO Rawalpindi on next hearing. The court directed the petitioner to file application in police station Sadar Baironi for registration of case. Further hearing of the case will take place on Wednesday. The petitioner appeared in the court with her counsel Imaan Mazari Monday. Jail administration presented report in the court with reference to Muhammad Akram. The court while expressing resentment over the report summoned the jail administration in person. The counsel for the petitioner told the court nothing is known about Muhammad Akram since August 14 and police have also not registered case. The court directed the petitioner to file applicati on in police station Baironi for registration of case. The court has sought affidavit from intelligence bureau and CPO Rawalpindi on next hearing. Memona Riaz wife of Muhammad Akram deputy superintendent Adiala jail had filed petition in the court making home secretary Punjab, defence secretary, superintendent jail, IG Punjab and SHO police station sadar baironi respondents. The petition was filed through Imaan Mazari advocate and Hadi Ali Chatha advocate.
Hearing of Al-Qadir trust reference against PTI founder, Bushra Bibi adjourned
RAWALPINDI: Judge Nasir Javed Rana of Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has adjourned till August 17 hearing of Al-Qadir trust reference against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on the request of counsels of the accused persons. Due to it the important witness of the case and NAB investigating officer Mian Umar Nadim could not be cross examined for the fifth time. Both the accused appeared in the court along with their counsels Thursday. NAB prosecutor general Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi and Amjid Pervez were also present in the court. The counsels for the accused were to cross question NAB investigating officer Mian Umar Nadim but the counsels for the accused took the plea their several cases are pending hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC) , therefore, hearing be adjourned. However the counsels requested that the certified copy of our application which was rejected by the court regarding board meeting of NAB was not provided to us. The court accepted the plea for providing certified cop y of order of previous hearing. Bushra Bibi came on rostrum during the hearing and told the court NAB had given her questionnaire in new Toshakhana case and jail authorities have taken away all my documents from my room in jail despite the fact I was preparing reply to NAB questionnaire. Then NAB walas say we are not joining investigation. The court while directing deputy superintendent Jail to return NAB documents to Bushra Bibi adjourned the hearing of the case.
