Islamabad: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project along with CDA Board Member Engineering, Syed Nafasat Raza. On this occasion, Chairman CDA inspected the ongoing construction activities in various sections of the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project.
The Project Director, Director Roads and consultants briefed Chairman CDA on the progress of the construction work. They apprised him that the launching of 48 girders for the Shaheen Chowk project has been completed, and the remaining girders will also be launched and completed soon. Similarly, 85% of the construction work for Ramp One included in the project has been finished.
During the briefing, Chairman CDA was informed that 30% of the construction work for Ramp Two of the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project has been completed. He was further informed that work on the bridges of the adjacent drains and the retaining walls is also progressing rapidly.
Chairman CDA expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction work achieved so far on the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project. He directed that work on the project's construction must continue day and night to ensure adherence to the timelines. Chairman CDA also instructed the relevant officers to promptly begin work on aesthetic landscaping, digital SMDs and LED lights for the beautification of the project.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project will be highly beneficial in reducing traffic congestion in Islamabad and will result in saving of fuel and time for commuters. Chairman CDA said that upon completion, this project will provide signal-free travel facilities to students of nearby educational institutions and the general public. He further directed the Project Director and Resident Engineers to ensure high quality and timely completion by effectively monitoring all ongoing construction activities on the project.
Meanwhile Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" Building project along with CDA Board Member Engineering, Syed Nafasat Raza and relevant officers. He inspected the progress of the construction activities, renovation and beautification work being carried out on the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" Building project.
Relevant officers briefed Chairman CDA on the progress of the construction work for the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" project. They informed him that over 70% of the project's total construction work has been accomplished. He was further briefed that construction activities are progressing rapidly to ensure the project's timely completion.
During the briefing, Chairman CDA was informed that the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" project will soon be completed and opened for the general public. He was also told that modern technology will be utilized at the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" to provide public services and facilities for the citizens.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that while ensuring the project's swift completion, the highest quality standards must be ensured under all circumstances. He directed the establishment of a dedicated counter at the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" to provide CDA's One-Window Facilitation Center services. He instructed that in this regard, the CDA's IT Wing should commence work for integration and provision of all CDA's services at Assan Khidmat Markaz.
Chairman CDA said that with the establishment of the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" the citizens of Islamabad will be able to access approximately one hundred services and facilities from various departments under one roof. He further directed that no compromise on the high standards of quality in the completion of the "Assan Khidmat Markaz" project would be tolerated.
