Chairperson BISP discusses digital inclusion and financial literacy collaboration with VEON and Jazz leadership


Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met with VEON Group Chief Executive Officer Kan Terzioglu, Jazz World Chief Executive Officer Amir Ibrahim, and Jazz Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer Syed Zaheer Mehdi.



During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on potential areas of collaboration, including improving payment mechanisms, enhancing digital and financial literacy among BISP beneficiaries, promoting skill development opportunities, and utilizing modern digital and social media platforms for awareness campaigns. The use of artificial intelligence to support these initiatives also came under discussion.



On the occasion, Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that effective institutional collaboration is essential for achieving improved outcomes. She stated that ensuring dignified and transparent disbursement of financial assistance to deserving women remains BISP’s top priority. She further highlighted the importance of creating employment opportunities for women through skill training and enhancing digital and financial literacy using artificial intelligence-based audio and video tutorials in regional languages.



VEON Group CEO Kan Terzioglu appreciated BISP’s initiatives and ongoing reforms and expressed commitment to working closely with the Programme. He also proposed organizing joint workshops focused on strengthening digital and financial literacy among BISP beneficiaries.
